Construction and Demolition Waste Sector

 

The Solid Waste Department oversees Solid Waste Management in CBRM.  The department accepts, manages, process and properly ships or disposes of Construction and Demolition (C & D) debris.  A tipping fee is assigned to the materials received from the C&D debris received from the Industrial, Commercial & Institutional (ICI) waste sector.,

For your convenience CBRM's Solid Waste Management Facility located on Spar Road in Sydney is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday unless otherwise advertised.  For more information on Solid Waste Management in CBRM, phone our Hotline at 567-1337.

Construction and Demolition (C&D) material generated as a result of construction,demolition or renovation activities must be disposed of properly at the Waste Management Facility.  Contractors, commercial businesses or industries etc., disposing of C&D waste must do so in accordance to the rules and regulations established by the CBRM Solid Waste Department.  The tipping fee associated with disposal of these materials will be charged based on a sorted or an unsorted load.
