An Evening of Christmas Ghost Stories

Tuesday Dec 12th 6:30-9:00 pm

McConnell Library, 50 Falmouth St, Sydney

Join acclaimed performers Todd Pettigrew, Scott Sharplin, 
Ken Chisholm, and Jenn Tubrett, and special musical guests “Endnotes”, for our 8th Annual Evening of humorous original Christmas-themed ghost stories, inspired by Robertson Davies’ classic collection, “High Spirits”. 

Copies of “Christmas Stalkings: Ten Tales of Literary Spirits”, the original stories read in previous years at the McConnell Library and published in 2016 by Cape Breton’s own Third Person Press, will be available for purchase just in time for Christmas.

Donations may be offered at the door to support CBRL Book Clubs across the region.

Learn to play bridge or improve your playing with instructor Mary Ozyany and develop a good understanding of basic Standard American Bridge bidding conventions.  Aimed at beginners and near beginners.

The Foggy View Community Theatre Group Staging "Happy Hollandaise" at the Louisbourg Playhouse (-)

 

The Foggy View Community Theatre Group, in accordance with Pioneer Drama Service under the direction of Natasha Burke-Morash , is staging a British Christmas Comedy, Happy Hollandaise, on Friday, December 15th, Saturday, December 16th and Sunday, December 17th at 7:00pm at the Louisbourg Playhouse. Doors will open at 6:30 each evening


* Admission: $8 per person; $6 seniors & students

 

Happy Hollandaise...

Ever wanted the “perfect” Christmas? What is it anyway? That is all Claire Finley wanted so she’s hired the gourmet chef to prepare her famous hollandaise sauce for her esteemed dinner guests- the new vicar and his pregnant wife!

As it turns out, the chef is late, burglars are loose and Claire’s eccentric father who has been hit on the head thinks he is the leading man in all West End Theatre productions over the last 30 years.

With the help of her quirky brother, she tries to keep it together as it continues to unravel. Mayhem ensues; however the true meaning of Christmas shines bright in a surprise ending which involves transformation, forgiveness, and a beautiful new beginning.
