Fun day for families that includes reading together, getting out and enjoying Wentworth Park, and hearing stories from a variety of guest readers. Everyone is welcome to attend. Participants, both children and adults, are asked to track their reading time for the two weeks prior to the Read-A-Thon and to get donations for the time they read, using a Read-A-Thon pledge sheet. All donations at the event will be gratefully accepted. Money raised will be used to improve services at the McConnell Library. If June 19 is a rainy day, the Read-A-Thon will take place at the McConnell Library. The bookmobile will be on hand at the Park and the public is welcome to drop in and check it out. Read-A-Thon pledge sheets are available at the McConnell Library, or at www.cbrl.ca/readathon. For more information call 562-3279. |
