CBRM tax and water bills available online
Residents are encouraged to sign up for new, free service

SYDNEY, NS – Property tax and water bills from the Cape Breton Regional Municipality have gone digital.
CBRM residents are now able to receive and pay their tax and water bills online through the municipality's partnership with 'epost.ca', Canada Post's bill management site.
To encourage people to sign up to the free service, epost.ca is holding monthly draws for $1,000. Every two bills a resident adds to their epost account enters them in a draw for $1,000 from Canada Post. This includes CBRM tax bills, water bills and the Property Valuation Services Corporation's (PVSC) Property Assessment Notice.
"Epost.ca is a safe, secure, and free website to help manage online tax and water bills," said John MacKinnon, CBRM Director of Technology. "Step-by-step information about signing up for epost is on the back of tax bills being mailed out to residents right now."
Jennifer Campbell, Manager of Finance, says the switch to epost is easy for residents and keeps a billing history that residents can easily access.
"Residents can visit epost.ca to create a new account and the bill notifications will then be emailed or texted to them in the future," said Campbell. "Epost also allows residents to view their billing and payment history and it is integrated into online banking."
To receive and pay bills online, visit www.epost.ca to create a new account. Residents must have their paper bills ready when registering a new account. Finally, click on "add new bill or statement" and select the proper billers to set up a payment method.
