The Solid Waste Department oversees Solid Waste Management in CBRM. The department is responsible for collecting, managing, processing, and the proper disposal and or shipment of solid waste generated by the residential sector. The department is responsible for the receiving, managing,  processing, and proper disposal or shipment of solid waste generated by the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional sectors. A tipping fee is assigned to the materials received by the ICI sector. The department accepts, manages, process and properly ships or disposes of Construction and Demolition Debris. A tipping fee is assigned to the materials received from the C&D debris received from the Industrial, Commercial & Institutional  waste sector.

Solid Waste Curbside Collection - Keeping You Informed!

 

CBRM Solid Waste Department will provide up to date information on curbside collection notices. These notices will appear in this area and recorded on our Solid Waste Management Hotline 567-1337.

If the Solid Waste Department cancels curbside collection, cancellation notices will be aired on local radio stations.

The CBRM Solid Waste Department wishes to advise our residents, who have curside collection today Tuesday January 24th, 2012 that due to slippery road conditions throughout the municipality, collection vehicles may be unable to travel on some roads. 

                                      

Is there Curbside Collection Today?

In the event that the Solid Waste Department is required to change curbside collection due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the Solid Waste Departament will rely on the following tools to communicate this information:

A Notice will be posted on the Solid Waste Section of the CBRM website.

Notices will be aired on the local radio stations (if this impacts the entire CBRM)

Residents can also phone the hotline at 567-1337 to obtain information about their curbside collection.
