NFB Film Club, McConnell Library, Sydney. Feature Documentary: Mighty Jerome (83 min). Celebrate African Heritage Month at the McConnell Library. We will be showing the film “Mighty Jerome”, the compelling story of the rise, fall, and ultimate redemption of track and field star, Harry Jerome, one of Canada ’s greatest athletes! Gorgeous monochrome imagery, impassioned interviews, and astonishing archival footage, are used to tell the story of what has been called “the greatest comeback in track and field history.” Also showing: the animated short, “A Cloud’s Dream”, a stereoscopic particle simulation from Hothouse 7 that explores various cloud formations as one cloud’s imagination soars on a captivating journey from dusk ‘till dawn. As the star-studded Academy Awards Celebration approaches, join awarding-winning filmmaker, writer and producer Annett Wolf for a glimpse into Hollywood’s past and present. Annett has profiled some of Hollywood’s legends: Jack Lemmon, Alfred Hitchcock, Ingmar Bergman, Jacques Brel and Peter Sellers. Jack Lemmon was a mentor and friend to Annett Wolf and along with stories from Annett’s years in Hollywood; she will share her in-depth conversation with Jack Lemmon from 1976. ‘Twist of Lemmon’ is a truly unique moment from Hollywood’s history.
