Transit Fares

Transit fares are $1.25 per zone traveled. Depending on the number of zones travelled, the cost of riding the bus can range from $1.25 to $5.00.

Transit fares for Seniors 55 & up and children 5-12 range are $1.00 per zone traveled. Depending on the number of zones travelled, the cost of riding the bus can range from $1.00 to $4.75.

What About Transfers?

Transfers are only issued when and where you pay your fare.You keep it for the duration of your one-way trip. They must be used on the first connecting bus at the stop that you get off, and cannot be used for stopovers. Please keep it in good condition and show it to the operator, if you have to board another bus to complete your one-way trip. Transfers are the passenger’s responsibility. If you lose your transfer, another will not be issued and you will be required to pay full fare when you change transit vehicles.

Handi-Trans Fares.

Transit Cape Breton’s wheelchair accessible bus service is operated for persons who’s disability restricts them from using our regular route service or other modes of transport. Registration is required to determine if a person is eligible. Fare for one-way is $1.75 within a particular community, $3.25 between communities within the municipality.
