Source to the Tap Video Series
The CBRM Water Utility and it's Eco-partner ACAP Cape Breton created an educational video series entitled "From the Source to the Tap" to provides the community and educators with the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the CBRM Water Utility workings without having to trek through a watershed or make arrangements for guided tours of our facilities.
This three part series focuses on source water, water treatment, and water distribution throughout the CBRM. The films are five to eight minutes long and are recommended for use in the classroom, by community groups, and individuals interested in learning where their tap water comes from, how it is treated, and how it gets to their homes and businesses in the CBRM.
In addition to the video series, an accompanying educator resource kit featuring high school curriculum objectives has been developed by ACAP Cape Breton's education team. Three interdisciplinary lessons exploring the themes and topics of the videos will soon be available for free to teachers wishing to use local curriculum in the classroom. Educators can contact our Eco-partner ACAP-CB for full detals on cirriculum developed educational resources.
We hope you enjoy the movies...
Also, to follow the complete water cycle, there are two vidoes which show the process of Wastewater Treatment. The "Solution to Water Pollution" series brings you inside the workings of the Battery Point Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sydney, and the Dominion-Bridgeport Wastewater Treatment Plant.
